BIDA launches professional day care service for all parents working at Biniyog Bhaban

Nov 11, 2025

The Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) has introduced a professional day care service for children of officials and employees based at its headquarters ‘Biniyog Bhaban’ as part of an overall effort to achieve commitment to institutional excellence. The service can be accessed by parents working at BIDA or any other office housed within the premises.

Today, a formal agreement was signed appointing Little Ducklings, an arm of Dhaka Ahsania Mission to manage the day care centre.

Speaking on the occasion, BIDA Executive Chairman Mr Ashik Chowdhury said:

“Dhaka Ahsania Mission is a respected institution with a long-standing commitment to social welfare. Through Little Ducklings, we are ensuring access to professional childcare services—an initiative that will undoubtedly add a new dimension to our work environment. This is an important step towards creating a women-friendly and family-oriented office culture, offering a practical solution particularly for working mothers. I am confident that this initiative will further strengthen BIDA’s institutional ethos and its commitment to humane values.”

He further added:

“The fee structure has been kept intentionally affordable to ensure accessibility for all employees. Subsidized rates are available for those with lower incomes, allowing parents to work with peace of mind, knowing their children are in a safe, nurturing and educational setting.”

The BIDA Day Care Centre was initially launched in November 2024, under the authority’s internal management and supervision of its Administration Wing, following consultations with professional childcare advisors. With the onboarding of Little Ducklings, the center is now transitioning to a fully professional model. The updated facility will feature:

·         A full-time superintendent/teacher

·         Two trained caregivers for every four children

·         Opportunities for early childhood learning

·         A secure, hygienic environment ensuring comprehensive care, nutrition, and safety

Currently, around 10 to 11 children are enrolled at the center, including those of officials from BIDA, the Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA), and the National Skills Development Authority (NSDA).

To guide and standardize service delivery, BIDA has also developed its own operational framework “BIDA Day Care Centre Guideline 2024” detailing service design, quality standards, and management protocols.
